Donna
Mae (Melander) Sanders, loving wife, mother,
grandma and friend, lost her battle with cancer
and went home to be with the Lord on November
25, 2012.
Mom grew up and graduated in Wenatchee,
Washington. She worked at Ma Bell Telephone
Company in Seattle for 12 years, and later at
the Carnation Post Office until retiring in
1990. She then moved to Bonners Ferry, where she
resided with her husband, Leo Sanders.
Her passion in life was serving the Lord,
enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with
family and friends. She was one of the founders
of Lake Sammammish Water Ski Club and skied
competitively for many years. She also loved to
cook, garden, camp, ride horses and pack into
the mountains, ride four wheelers and spend time
with her friends, family and grandkids.
Mom and dad spent their 25th Wedding Anniversary
packing into the North Cascade Mountains on
horseback.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 49
years, Leo Sanders; son, Kip and Roxanne Sanders
of Duvall, Washington; daughter, Deena and Tom
Calder of Elk, Washington; four grandkids,
Carmen, Kyle, Josh and Austin; and two sisters,
Beverly Pearson and Janet McKenna, both of
Wenatchee.
We want to extend a special thank you to the
nurses and aids at North Idaho Hospice who
helped us through this difficult time.
The family suggests, in lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of
North Idaho or the Northwest Cancer Society. A
Memorial Service/Celebration of Donna's Life
will be held in Wenatchee, on Saturday, May 18,
2013. |
