Vance Neil Jones Jr. passed away January 2,
2012, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur
d’Alene, Idaho. Private arrangements are being
held with interment in Sharon, Connecticut.
Vance was born in Sharon Connecticut to Vance
and Ruth Jones on October 16, 1935. He lived in
Amenia, New York, and attended grammar and high
school there. After school he joined the Navy,
where he served for four years during the Korean
War.
In 1959 he married Jean P Peterson and they had
three children; Todd, Lori, and Michael.
Tragically Michael was killed in an auto
accident at the age of 19.
The family lived in Sharon, Connecticutt, for 26
years and Vance had a welding and fabrication
business there.
In 1988, the family moved to Moyie Springs, and
Vance went to work for Hatfield Enterprises in
Spokane as a long haul trucker.
Vance enjoyed hunting, fishing and had a cabin
cruiser which he used for years mostly on Pend
Oreille Lake.
Vance is survived by his wife Jean; son Todd and
daughter Lori; granddaughters Hannah and
Isabella; two brothers and three sisters. He
will be buried in Sharon Ct with his son
Michael.
