 Bettie
Louise Preston, 83, passed away at her Bonners
Ferry home on December 4, 2011.
Bettie was born in Moscow, Idaho, the daughter
of Paul and Ruby Marcy. A graduate of Bonners
Ferry High School, she grew up and lived most of
her life in northern Idaho. She worked many
years as a dental assistant and in later years
as a long-term care provider. Bettie loved
nature and all it offered including fishing and
just viewing wildlife. In later years she
enjoyed frequent drives through the Kootenai
Wildlife Sanctuary. She rescued and cared for
numerous abandoned pets, and enjoyed visiting
with family and friends.
Bettie is survived by a brother and sister, Doug
Deschamp and Lynette Byers; three sons, Bill,
Jay, and Mark Leeper; a step-daughter, Irene
“Preston”, and a number of grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
A memorial celebration will be held at a later
date.
