Mortimer Phipps Bacon II was born January 16,
1923, in Missoula, Montana, to Lillian C.
(Curry) and Mortimer Phipps Bacon Sr. He left
this world on November 26, 2011, from his son
Morty's home in Naples.
Mort grew up and lived in the Alberton, Montana,
area, the youngest of five children. He was a
logger and an outfitter up Fish Creek in his
younger years. Mort retired from the University
of Montana in April 1987. He remained in
Alberton until 2006, when he moved to Idaho to
live with his son Mort.
Mort married Ida (Mickey) DuMontier in 1958.
They had four children, Mortimer P. Bacon III,
David C. Bacon, Jesse J. Bacon, and Lillian
(Bacon) Nagy.
Mort is survived by his three sons, Morty,
Naples, and his three children Jake, Ginger, and
Amber. David of Blanchard, Idaho, Jeese of
Alberton, Montana, daughter Lillian and her
husband Pat Nagy and their children, Wyatt,
Shana, Cheyanne, and Cole. Three great
grandchildren, Savannah, Weston, and Ava.
Mort is preceeded in death by his parents, three
sisters, one brother, daughter Bootsy from his
first marriage, and Ida.
