Joan
Glover Bartleson, an award-winning nature
photographer, passed away early Thanksgiving
morning.
She is survived by her daughter, Joalan Breaux,
and grandson, John Breaux, Jr., She is also
survived by her big brother Allen Glover, twin
sister Jean Johnson, and sisters Judy Steck,
Sharon Griffin and Toni Glover.
Joan was born in Dallas, Texas, and never lost
her love of all things majestic and
awe-inspiring. Her nature photography has been
the focus of her life for the last 15 years, and
her success demonstrated an innate ability to
see the hidden beauty of Idaho's mountains and
wildlife refuges; a natural world that many of
us see as ordinary. Her poetry describes the
beauty in her everyday life.
Joan is also survived by close many close
friends who became her “Idaho family.”
Throughout Joan's life, she cherished her pets
and considered them family. Her dogs Gopher,
Kodi and Kermode, and her cats Tinkerbell, Sarah
and Mama Kitty had the good fortune to be an
important part of her life.
Her human family was also blessed by her love,
honesty, kindness, giving spirit and undeniable
talent. Even though Joan leaves behind grieving
friends and family, we are comforted by the fact
that she left behind a photographic record that
cannot be diminished.
