Kinley Todd Nelson was born August 14, 1962, in Hemet, California, to Larry and Barb Nelson. He passed away on Friday, August 5, 2011, at Kootenai Medical Center of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident August 1.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Kinley started elementary school in Napoleon, North Dakota and finished Junior High in Rolette, North Dakota. He completed his schooling and graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1980, the week of the eruption of Mt. St. Helens.

His employment history includes working as a cook at A&W and then Ellen's Drive Inn, he was a clerk at the Radio Shack of Taft's, he worked at a video store in Spokane, and was a night auditor for the Kootenai River Inn. He also worked at Kootenai Valley Times, was in the business office of Boundary Community Hospital, worked as a bookkeeper for Conoco gas station, and most recently worked for the State of Idaho in the local liquor stores.

Kinley was also known to help many people (and elderly ladies were his favorite) with their electronic devices, sound systems, grass mowing and any other needs they had. He was also involved in several ministries of his church.

Those left behind are his parents, Larry and Barb Nelson of Bonners Ferry, his sister, Kamin (Nelson) Sandford, her husband, Dan, and their children, Madeline, Micah, Gabriel and Boaz, of Spokane Valley, Washington, and brother Torr Nelson and Torr's daughter, Cassie, Hayden, Idaho.

Instead of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.

Family and friends are invited to sign Kinley’s book at www.bonnersferryfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Bonners Ferry Funeral Home.
