Judith
A. Rafferty, beloved spouse and devoted mother,
passed away peacefully at home on July 11, 2011.
She was 72 years old.
Judy was born February 21, 1939, to James Robert
and Grace Gregg Andrews in Spokan Washington.
Her family soon moved to a farm outside Bonners
Ferry Idaho, where she grew up. On April 9,
1959, she married the love of her life, James
Rafferty.
A registered nurse, she was employed as a unit
manager for New York Blood Services. She was an
Army wife for more than twenty years, an
accomplished seamstress, exceptional cook who
loved to dance. She was a resident of Port
Charlotte, Florida, and Saugerties, New York.
In addition to her husband, James, she is
survived by nine children, Laurie Pallotta,
Huntsville Alabama; Susan Lyons, Queens, New
York, Gina Mahoney, Concord, North Carolina,
Cathy Rowley, Raleigh, North Carolina, Irene
Mapa of the Poconos, Mary Basile, Queens, New
York, Jim Rafferty, Mt. Vernon, Virginia, Grace
Basile, Lake Carmel, New York; and Eileen
Rafferty, Queens, New York; sister Carol
Andrews, Peoria, Arizona; 20 Grandchildren, two
great-grandchildren, and many nieces and
nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 15
at St. Mary of the Snow, Saugerties, New York,
Reverend Christopher Berean officiating. She was
buried in Saratoga National Cemetery,
Schuylerville, New York.
