Liturgy of the Word for Daniel Mittelstadt, 56,
of Mt. Shasta, California, formerly of Killdeer,
North Dakota, were held May 23 in the Chapel of
Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, North Dakota,
with Father Jerry Ruelle celebrating. Burial was
in Killdeer Cemetery, Killdeer.
Dan passed away of natural causes on Monday, May
16, 2011.
Daniel Lynn Mittelstadt was born July 5, 1954,
in Williston, North Dakota, the son of Leonard
and Beverly (Hartman) Mittelstadt. He grew up
and attended school through grade 12 in
Killdeer. He then went to work as a
seismographer for several years before attending
Wadena Technical College in Wadena, Minnesota.
Upon completion of his schooling, Dan worked in
Newark, New Jersey and Mt. Shasta as an
electronic technician.
Dan enjoyed fishing and spending time in the
mountains of California. He also enjoyed his
time with his nieces and nephews (teaching them
how to boogie) and his great nieces and nephews.
Dan is survived by his mother, Beverly
Mittelstadt; sister, Denise Rambur; brother,
Myles (Pam) Mittelstadt; brother-in-law, Vernon
Judy; aunts and uncles, Neale Hartman, Norbert
Schwahn, Irene Rohde and Margie Tercek; nieces
and nephews, Vernon (Rachel) Judy, Jr., Michelle
Judy, Danielle Rambur, Charleen (Andy) Schmidt,
Jessica (Chad) Kostelecky, Leah Rambur, Tryone
(Jessica) Mittelstadt and Amber Mittelstadt;
great-nieces and nephews, Matthew Rambur, Jayden
and Shay Schmidt, Riley, Tana and Keaten
Kostelecky, Noah, Katelyn and Wyatt Judy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard
Mittelstadt; his sister, Patty Judy; his nephew,
David Judy; his grandparents, Jack and Margaret
Mittelstadt and Norval and Muriel Hartman; his
aunts Shirley Hartman, Darlene Schwahn and Mary
Hartman and his cousin, Kurt Schwahn. |
