2 a.m. December 29, 2017
According to the National Weather Service, a second, more intense storm than the one that just passed will impact the region Friday. This storm will bring the potential for heavy snow to locations north of Interstate 90, with mainly rain south of I-90.

In Bonners Ferry, snow is expected mainly after 10 a.m. today, with as much as five additional inches falling before snowfall gets heavy Friday evening and night, when up to 10 more inches is predicted.

Snowfall is expected to taper beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, and skies are expected to clear for a bright, cool New Year's Day Monday, with a high temperature of 23 forecast.
