Hanna Flats GNA open house set |

The Idaho Panhandle National Forests is holding
an open house to share information and answer
questions on the Hanna Flats Good Neighbor
Authority (GNA) Project on the Priest Lake
Ranger District. The open house will be held
from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, December 14, at the
Priest Lake Ranger Station, 32203 Highway 57,
Priest Lake.
The purpose of the open house is to inform the
public of changes to the project design as a
result of public comments and field survey
findings. Resource specialists will be available
for questions.
The Hanna Flats GNA project, located west of the
Priest Lake Ranger Station, is being proposed to
improve forest health, reduce hazardous fuels,
produce timber products, reduce road sediment to
streams, improve cross-country ski trails and
identify forest stands for old growth
recruitment.
To accelerate restoration efforts, the Forest
Service is using the Good Neighbor Authority in
the 2014 Farm Bill to contract personnel and
processes with the Idaho Department of Lands.
