A semi driver attempting a lane change near mile 11 on I-90 in Coeur d'Alene this morning sent a Blanchard woman to the hospital and shut down the eastbound lane for about four hours.

According to the Idaho State Police, Ricardo T.J. Saenz, 40, Pasco, Washington, was driving a white 2017 Freightliner pulling three box trailers east at about 11:47 a.m. when he attempted to change lanes.

He hit a red 1993 Honda Prelude, also eastbound, driven by Beverly Brisson, 80, Blanchard.

Her Prelude came to rest came to a rest in the center eastbound lane and the third trailer of Saenz's rig overturned, blocking both lanes.

Brisson was transported to Kootenai Health. Both she ad Saenz were wearing their seatbelts.
