Unsettled weather predicted in the week ahead |

According to the National Weather Service, a
very active weather pattern will envelope the
region beginning Monday and continue through the
week with frequent periods of mostly valley rain
and mountain snow.
While each storm will bring moderate to locally
heavy mountain snow accumulations, the series of
storms training through the area will likely
promote increasingly deep mountain snow
accumulations through the week, making travel
over passes and higher roads difficult and
hazardous.
Expect mostly cloudy skies in Boundary County on
Sunday with rain and mountain snow above 4,500
feet, lifting to 5,000 feet Sunday night as
valley temperatures hover just above freezing.
The daytime high Monday is expected to be around
41 degrees in Bonners Ferry, with a near
100-percent chance of rain, turning to snow at
about 4,500 feet. Overnight Monday the chance of
precip drops to 50-percent, and the snow level
drops to 3,000 feet as temperatures dip back
into the low to mid 30s.
Tuesday is expected to bring a frozen mix to the
valley, with moderate snow accumulations
possible. The chance of precipitation is
70-percent, and it increases overnight and into
Wednesday. |
