Idaho Family Reading Week just ahead
November 6, 2017
Idaho Family Reading Week starts next week, November 12-18, and Valley View Elementary has a full school week of activities planned to get your family reading.

Their theme of “Tell me a tale” will inspire children to write their own stories and read them to classes.

There will also be a contest for best tale, and the winning book will be placed in the library for check-out!

And don’t forget, please try to come and read with your child on Thursday!

Here's a little of what's in store:
* Monday, November 13: Peace Officer Team Readers visit each class to read a tale.
* Tuesday, November 14: Submit a Tale day: Stories written by students of all grades will be judged and a winner chooses on Thursday.
* Wednesday, November 15: Principal Williams and mystery readers will be reading stories to the classrooms.
* Thursday, November 16: The entire school is hosting PJ’s, Popcorn and Books! Dress in your PJ’s and come to school ... invite your parents to come read with you (check with your child’s teacher for the best time). The PTO will be making popcorn for the children in the afternoon!

The Idaho Commission for Libraries sponsors Idaho Family Reading Week along with the Eagle Aerie #3522, the Lion’s Club, Rotary, Super 1 and many parent volunteers.

Thank you and ... Read!
