Winter weather expected at pass elevations
October 12, 2017
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in effect from 5 p.m. today through 11 a.m. Friday for snow across the higher elevations, including passes, in North Idaho and northeast Washington.

Snow, rain and rain/snow mix is expected to fall in the valleys early this evening before tapering off Friday morning. Snow nor ice are expected to stick at valley elevations, but precipitation is expected to turn to snow as it falls at higher elevations and to stick and freeze to roadways as it reaches the elevations of mountain passes.

Motorists traveling at higher elevations in the alert area are advised to use caution and be prepared for winter driving conditions.
