The academy's fall fundraiser is an excellent opportunity, and it's taking place at the Candlelight Christian Fellowship, N5725 North Pioneer Drive, Coeur d'Alene, at 6 p.m. Monday, October 23. Tickets are $25 and can be reserved by clicking here.

"This year was my first time attending Patriot Academy in the Boise capitol," Mary wrote. "Students ages 16-25 come from all over, including surrounding states; Washington, Oregon and California, to attend the Northwest Patriot Academy in Boise during late August. At age 17, I traveled to Patriot Academy from Bonners Ferry to partake in such an incredible movement. This academy had a great impact on my life, and has inspired me to always stand for Christ and country!"

Patriot Academy is a Christ-oriented organization committed to teaching Constitutional-founding principles to young patriots through a mock legislative environment. The goal of Patriot Academy is to inspire leaders, encourage individuals to stand for justice, and ignite the torch of freedom within us all!

There are five Patriot Academies across the United States. The national academy is based in Austin, Texas, and the other four in the state capitols of Idaho, Arizona, Florida and Delaware.

During the academy, students are immersed into a mock legislative environment, participating in the roles of state representatives and senators. Students learn firsthand how government functions by working in committees, writing bills, presenting and debating bills in the House and running/voting for House leadership. In between periods of legislation, students attend leadership workshops aimed at developing their speaking skills.

After a week, the young patriots graduate and are ready to advocate for freedom, truth and justice in the world.

The keynote speaker at the fall fundraiser will be Patriot Academy founder Rick Green, who will give a speech titled, "Passing the Torch of Freedom!"

Tickets are $25 and can be reserved by clicking here. Enjoy a complimentary dinner and dessert and hear the testimonies of 2017 Patriot Academy graduates, including Mary!
