Sharon Helms and Bev Hokason man a booth recently where raffle tickets for the Bonners Ferry Community Quilt were offered. The winniing name will be drawn at the end of the third annual Community Quilt show October 14.
The third-annual Bonners Ferry Non-Judged Community Quilt Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 14, at the Boundary County Fairgrounds. There'll be door prizes, quilt sales, vendors, demos and to add icing to the cake, the winner of the beautiful community quilt will be drawn!

This is the chance for all Boundary County quilters to share their love of the art!

The community quilt, a true masterpiece, was created from blocks donated by quilters community wide, and it was quilted by Teresa Rives. Over 60 hours went into its creation, and someone is going to take it home! Tickets are $1 each or six for $5.

Admission to the show is $3 per person, and proceeds benefit improvements at the Boundary County Fairgrounds. Anyone who would like to share a quilt for display or to sell a quilt can pick up an entry form at any of the four quilt shops in town. All the information you need is on the form.

Humanitarian quilts will be displayed and donated to the quilters' choice of organizations which include the Boundary Community Hospital Extended Care Wing, Hospice, Hope House, Quilts Beyond Borders, NAMI and local veterans.

Anyone interested in volunteering can contact any one listed on the entry form. To learn more, call organizer Carol Jean Hubbard at (208) 255-6980 or email bcfair@boundarycountyid.org.
