Time to thin the herd and flock
September 1, 2017
Marchita Johnson, who is retired from a career in retail management and now describes herself as a grandmother, gardener, farmer and daughter of the King, is working to divest her Moyie Springs farm of a few goats and chickens, but she wants to make sure the homes they go to are as loving and caring as hers is.

She is offering for sale one awesome dwarf Nigerian wether who knows his name, understands some commands and is super sweet. All she wants is reimbursed for hiscastration fee of $76.

"He is a lovable pet and not for eating," Marchita said. "He sired all our kids, but I don't sell bucks as they are usually mistreated. He is a beautiful little guy. CAE and CL negative."

There are also two dwarf Nigerian kids. Sweet William is disbudded (no horns) and wethered, so he can't breed. He is a tri-colored buckskin and beautiful.

"He is such a gentleman he convinced two of our does to mother him!" she said.

Willy is CAE and CL negative. He is a special little guy and Marchita would love to keep him but doesn't have room. Asking $50, she said Willy, too, is not for eating, but a pet only.

Poppy is a sweet little girl that will make an awesome milk doe. Her mother died and Poppy grew up bottle fed. She is disbudded and ready for a new farm where she will be lovingly cared for. Poppy is a purebred from great milk lines, CAE and CL negative, but no papers. She is $75 and a great opportunity for someone starting a new homestead. If there are no other goats at their new home, Marchita said, Poppy and Willy must go together.

She's also selling this year's chickens as she has too many. There are two Issa brown hens that started laying two months ago who are offered for $20 each, a Black Astralorp that just started laying one month ago, also $20 and one awesome Americana Rooster, who will produce green egg laying chicks, for $10. All are organically raised and clean birds and Marchita will consider group deal.

Those interested can text Marchita at (208) 290-8651.
