INBC combats dip in blood donations
August 14, 2017
Inland Northwest Blood Center is inviting donors to their Spokane and Coeur d’Alene locations for a week of fun to help ensure a safe blood supply this summer.

From August 14-20, INBC will be hosting the Community Wide Blood Drive at their three Spokane locations and Coeur d’Alene location:
  - Downtown Spokane (W210 Cataldo): August 14 – 20
  - North Spokane (N10403 Newport Highway) : August 14, 17 – 20
  - Spokane Valley (MultiCare Valley Hospital): August 14 & 19
  - Coeur d'Alene (W405 Neider Avenue): August 14 - 19

Donations fall by about 40 percent during summer months while the need for blood increases and INBC needs the community’s help to meet the needs of our region.

Inland Northwest Blood Center is the only blood provider to more than 35 hospitals across the Inland Northwest. The blood supply is dependent on selfless donations from volunteer donors to ensure the lifesaving needs of the region are met.

Presenting donors will receive a free 2017 Save Our Summer t-shirt while supplies last and will be entered to win a $500 Back to School Shopping Spree. There will also be a fun, carnival-like atmosphere, free food and daily drawings to win a cooler with a six-pack of soda!

About 30 percent of INBC’s blood supply goes to cancer patients across the Inland Northwest and one in seven people entering the hospital will need blood. Those relying on blood in the region receive that lifesaving blood from INBC.

Donors can make a convenient appointment to give blood at www.inbcsaves.org or by calling (800)423-0151. With each donation, donors receive a free total cholesterol test and earn points in Inland Northwest Blood Center’s Hero in Me rewards program.

Blood donation takes about an hour from check-in to refreshments. Donors can save about 20 minutes by completing their Fast Track Health History the day they donate on www.inbcsaves.org.
