Flood watch issued on Moyie River
12:25 a.m. May 6, 2017
The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the Moyie River at Eastport as the river reached 7.7 feet at 10:45 p.m. Friday and could rise above flood stage of nine feet by Sunday evening or night.

At 7.7 feet, minor flooding is possible. At nine feet, lowland flooding occurs between Eastport and Addie.

People with property along the Moyie are advised to take measures to protect improvements, and to prevent improvements from floating downriver to possibly cause damage to other property owners.

As of 9:45 a.m. today, the level on the Moyie River at Eastport has risen to 8.25 feet, making it more likely that flooding will occur. Current USGS estimates predict the river will reach 9.03 feet by 10 a.m. Sunday.
