Washington escapees captured after foot chase |

Two Washington State men wanted for escape now
face additional charges in Idaho after attempting to flee law
enforcement this afternoon in Boundary County.
A deputy attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle
with four occupants shortly before 1 p.m. today
but the driver refused to pull over, leading to
a brief chase that led off Highway 2 and ended
at the top of the hill on Blume Hill Road.
Two female occupants remained with the vehicle,
while the two men, Shawn Williams, born in 1970,
and Gregory Krenv, born in 1975, both found to have
outstanding arrest warrants for escape in
Washington, fled south on foot, going down the
hill toward District 2 Road where people were
snowmobiling and sledding, several of them young
children.
Not knowing if the two were armed, the deputy
didn't press the chase but called for backup,
including calling for a tracking dog. That call
for backup brought members of the Border Patrol
K-9 Unit, Forest Service, Bonners Ferry Police,
Tribal Police and other members of the Sheriff’s
Department Office.
While the two men were being pursued, officers
searched the vehicle and found an undisclosed
quantity of drugs.
At about 2:29 p.m., officers reported both men,
trying to hide in some bushes, had been taken
into custody without incident.
Both are being held without bond in the Boundary
County Jail on the Washington State warrants.
Controlled substance charges are pending.
According to Boundary County officials, no
charges were filed against the female occupants
of the vehicle, who were not identified, and
both were released.
Boundary County Sheriff Dave Kramer extends his

and helped bring the incident to a safe and
