Winter storm to bring in New Year
December 31, 2016
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for heavy, blowing snow across Boundary, Bonner and north Kootenai Counties in effect from 11 p.m. today through 4 p.m. Monday.

Three to five inches of new snow are expected, with roads becoming snow covered by Sunday morning. Northeast winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour, gusting to 40 miles per hour, will create blizzard conditions.

Snowfall is expected to ease off Sunday afternoon and end Sunday evening, but windy conditions are expected to persist into Monday, making travel treacherous.
