Two injured in Naples collision
December 15, 2016
Two people, including a young girl, were injured in a collision between a semi and a pickup near Naples shortly before noon Wednesday that shut down Highway 95 for more than two hours.

According to Idaho State Police and scanner traffic, Christopher Wiedemier, 20, Naples, driving a maroon 1981 GMC pickup with a young girl in the passenger street, pulled into the southbound lane of Highway 95 near mile 496 at about 11:58 a.m. December 14, into the path of a Bison Transport tractor trailer driven by Andre Gouekine, 46, Ontario.

Boundary County Sheriff's deputies and personnel from Boundary Ambulance, South Boundary Fire and Paradise Valley Fire responded, along with an ISP trooper, and a Life Flight helicopter was called in, but later cancelled when both Wiedemier and his passenger were transported by ambulance to Boundary Community Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Gouekine was not injured.

Traffic was directed around the crash site one direction at a time until the roadway was cleared and normal traffic flow resumed at about 2:30 p.m.

The accident remains under investigation.
