ITD seeking public input on projects
December 1, 2016
The Idaho Transportation Department is taking public comment on 26 bridge projects on highway routes across the state. The bridges will be built as funding becomes available.

That list includes five spans in the Idaho Panhandle; the Round Prairie Creek Bridge, Highway 95 at Mile 529.96 in Boundary County, the Kalispell Creek Bridge, Idaho 57 at Mile 34.097 in Bonner County, the Cedar Creek Bridge, Idaho 3 at Mile 57.117 in Shoshone County, and the Santa Creek Bridge, Idaho 6 Mile 32.483, and the Little Hangman Creek Bridge, Idaho 60 at Mile 0.105, both in Benewah County.

Cost of each project is currently estimated at $1-million.

Bridges are an important part of the state's highway infrastructure. Improving them is part of the transportation department's mission to provide safety, mobility and economic opportunity.

Public comment on these projects is being taken through Saturday, December 10. Comments can be e-mailed to adam.rush@itd.idaho.gov, faxed to (208) 334-8563, or mailed to: Idaho Transportation Department, Attn: Adam Rush, 3311 W. State Street, Boise, ID 83703.

Those with questions about the bridges can contact Rush at adam.rush@itd.idaho.gov or at (208) 334-8119.

The public is also invited to provide online feedback and comment on several proposed public transportation projects throughout Idaho. Public comment will close January 26.

The Idaho Transportation Department - Public Transportation Office has a total of $1.2 million dollars available to fund capital projects such as buying buses, improving structures or building new infrastructure.

Included on the list are public transportation proposals in Bonner, Kootenai and Shoshone Counties.

Gathering public comment is the best way for ITD-PT to know what users of public transportation want and need and respond in the best way to serve customers. With a limited pool of funds to draw from, public comment is critical to help in the application process of recommending which proposals receive money.

To look at the proposals and give feedback, visit itd.idaho.gov/pt or call Rachel Pallister at (208) 334-8822 or you can send emails to Rachel.Pallister@itd.idaho.gov.
