A Big Lake man is likely having thoughts today along the
lines of "maybe I shouldn't have ought to done that."
Alaska State Troopers were summoned to a home on Dusk Lake Loop
in Big Lake after a disturbance report was phoned in at 12:20
a.m.
They didn't have to look very hard for the alleged cause of that
disturbance; not long after their arrival they were allegedly
attacked by Tyler Rasmussen, 26, Big Lake.
Mr. Rasmussen may be a little young to remember, but way back in
1972, a songwriter named Jim Croce spelled it out; "You don't
tug on Superman's cape, You don't spit into the wind, You don't
pull the mask off that ol' Lone Ranger, And you don't mess
around with Alaska State Troopers."
Okay, the last line was changed a little to fit this situation.
Troopers did get the better of it, suffering only minor injuries
and taking Rasmussen into custody on two counts of fourth degree
assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and first
degree harassment.
He spent the rest of the night as a guest at the Mat-Su Pretrial
facility, where he's staying without bail pending arraignment.
Perhaps he'd appreciate Croce's record, "You Don't Mess Around
With Jim" as a homecoming present. It isn't available on eight
track anymore, but it's still available on Amazon for less than
$10. |
