At 12:12 a.m. today, Matcom dispatch received a frantic call
from a Willow woman, who hysterically reported a kidnapping.
Someone, Dona Carnahan, 60, said hysterically, had taken a
female from her home.
Talkeetna Troopers responded to the home, location not reported,
and tried to make contact with Carnahan, but she fled the
residence and drove off. Troopers took up chase and attempted to
get her to pull over.
Instead, after a chase of about two miles, she spun the vehicle
around in an intersection and allegedly intentionally rammed
head on into the trooper's vehicle, causing significant damage
to both rigs.
The trooper, who was not injured, found Carnahan to be
intoxicated, and she had a shotgun with her in the vehicle. She
suffered minor injuries in the collision.
She spent her Christmas morning locked up at the Mat-Su Pretrial
Facility, facing charges of third degree assault on a police
officer, first degree eluding, third degree criminal mischief,
DUI and a weapons charge.
Investigation into the incident continues. |
