As rare winter flood waters continue to rise on the
Matanuska River, threatening homes in the Butte area, volunteers
are gearing up for a "sandbagging party" Saturday morning.
Sand is being delivered today, and volunteers will gather at the
Butte Fire Station at 10 a.m. tomorrow to fill and place
sandbags to help protect homes and property.
Volunteers will be required to fill out an emergency volunteer
form to cover the liability issues, and everyone is invited to
pitch in and help. |
