Two separate collisions just over an hour apart at the
intersection of Seldon and Bogard in Palmer tied traffic and
left two people with minor injuries Tuesday afternoon.
According to Alaska State Troopers, the first collision was
reported at 12:40 p.m. when Jason Dixon, 33, Wasilla, driving a
1995 Chevrolet S10 pickup, pulled out in front of a 1998 Dodge
Durango driven by Elicia Pettit-Wendling, age and town not
given.
Dixon told troopers he didn't see the oncoming vehicle because
the sun was in his eyes; Pettit-Wendling reported minor
injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts and no citations were
issued.
Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $5,000.
Troopers and emergency personnel were called back to the
intersection at 1:48 p.m., when John Abell, 64, Wasilla,
allegedly ran a stop sign and hit a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu driven
by Taellene Fox, 30, also of Wasilla.
Fox, whose vehicle was totaled, reported minor injuries.
Abell, who was not injured, was cited for failure to stop. |
