Snowmobiler nailed on Parks Highway

December 12, 2013
A 29 year-old Wasilla man tried to run, but was pulled over by Alaska State Troopers Wednesday evening while riding a Polaris snowmobile on the Parks Highway.

Trooper saw the snow machine on the highway near mile 51 at about 8:44 p.m. December 11, and attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver, Eric Earl Hunter, 29, took off in a brief attempt to outrun officers.

When he did pull over, troopers found him to be intoxicated and driving on a license revoked for previous DUI convictions.

He was taken into custody on charges of felony DUI, failure to stop and driving while revoked, and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility, where bail was set at $5,000 plus court approved third party.
