The second annual "Christmas for Camo Expo" takes place from
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Wasilla Middle School, admission
is free, and organizers are hoping to top last year's
$10,000-plus raised last year to benefit Hope for Heroes, a
non-profit corporation dedicated to raising money and collecting
gifts throughout the year through various fundraisers and
donations to give deserving military families past and present a
beautiful Christmas!
And not just Christmas. Hope for Heroes also provides assistance
and support to military families and our Troops during
deployments, and throughout the year. Last year58 Mat-Su
families benefitted from their efforts.
Over 60 local crafters and artisans will have booths at
tomorrow's event, there'll be music, door prizes and the chance
to shop 'til you drop. Everything you need to decorate for
Christmas will be available, as well as gifts for everyone on
your list.
There'll even be live NFWA wresting at 4:30 p.m. as Steele takes
on Adams in an epic, earthshaking bout!
Donations of care package items, simple things such as warm
gloves and matching hats, personal hygiene items, warm socks ...
the little things most take for granted but can't live without,
are most welcome; wrap them in festive colors and drop them off
at the Christmas for Camo Expo Tree of Hope!
