Children's Choir expanding with the Pearl

January 10, 2013
By Ginny Kirsch

The Pearl Theater is pleased to announce our new collaboration with the Bonners Ferry Community Children’s Choirs that will expand opportunities for kids to take part.

Founded in 1997, the choir under the direction of Vicki Blake Thompson has served young singers between the ages of 8 and 18 in the Boundary County area for 15 years.

The goal of the choir is the pursuit of musical excellence, to build self-esteem, and to nurture the artistic and personal growth of our youth in a joyful and supportive way.

Weekly rehearsals emphasize the development of musicianship, vocal techniques and performance skills.

The Pearl is pleased to announce that opportunities will be expanded with three choirs for various ages and skill levels now being offered. Each choir will have the opportunity to perform at the end of the session.

Victoria Blake Thompson will direct the choirs.

“Lightshine," the entry level choir for boys and girls in grades three through five, is offered from 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Thursdays at the Pearl Theater. No audition is required for this choir. Winter session runs January 17 through March 7. Tuition is $40, and scholarships are available for those in need. Discounts are available for families with more than one student in the choirs.
