Valley View votes ... and other important news

November 6, 2012
By Principal Gary Pflueger

This is an important week—both locally and nationally! To start with and what I feel is most important: Parent-Teacher Conferences begin today!

These most important meetings are designed to help us work closely together for the benefit of your child! The coordination of services, both in the home and within the school, is critical for the academic success of all our students. If you cannot make the assigned conference date, we will call to reschedule.

On November 6, “Election Day” we will hold Student Council Speeches at 8:45 a.m. Following this, the 3rd-5th graders will go to the polls. We will elect a President, V.P. and Treasurer from the 5th grade class. Our campaign trail has been positive and forward in thought! A Class Representative will then be added from each of the 4th and 5th grade classes. The first meeting of the 2012-2013 Student Council will be held on Thursday, November 15.

Next week, November 12-15, is National Education Week — this year Linda Hall and Tammy Schneider will be celebrated as the Certified and Classified “Employees of the Year”!
Congratulations to these fine individuals and all the employees who make BCSD #101 a great organization for the children in Boundary County. Throughout this week we will honor all of our Education Support Staff: the Office Staff, Title One and Special Education Paraprofessionals, AmeriCorps, Librarians, Lunch Servers, Custodians, and Transportation Services Staff. We could not meet the needs of our students without your support!

PTO Update:
As an incentive to support the troops overseas, our students donated 80 pounds of candy from their Halloween Booty! Marsha Eberhardt and her husband boxed it up and sent it out last week. Thank you students!

The Blue Spruce Christmas Tree Sales have begun! These beautiful trees, donated by Phil and Judy Dinning, are very fresh and long lasting!

Idaho Reads Update: We have a large number of books available for students to look through and take home! Teachers have had the first crack at these for their classroom libraries, now it is the students’ turn.

Parents, if you would like to look through these for your own child’s library selection, please stop in!
