Chamber welcomes Pearl

Welcome Carolyn Testa and the Pearl Theater, our
newest chamber members.
As you have heard from the buzz (not just the
sound of saws in the little Church on Ash Street
... no pun intended) but the excitement created
around the opening of the Pearl, a small theater
that along with the Friends of the ARTs will
encourage more live theater in Boundary County.
Carolyn in collaboration with play writer Paul
Rawlings will open in late October with a new
play by Paul about romantic love.
The name of the play is "No Cure for Love: An
Electric Romance."
Paul is still seeking a male actor around 40
years of age, if you're interested, call him at

It has two acts, Act I: Heartaches by the
Number, and Act II: Heart Still Smoken. There
are approximately 25 actors in the play, a live
band, and seventeen to eighteen songs. There
will be six performances. Check

The venue is described as "A comfortably-sized,
eclectic venue that will draw musicians &
theatrical performers from around the country to
Bonners Ferry."
"Our little theater will showcase local talent
by providing a professional setting for quality
entertainment that our community can look
forward to on a regular basis," Carolyn said.
"Our goal is to foster youth leadership and
small business development by providing
opportunities to the school as well as
individuals interested in all aspects of the
entertainment industry and the performing arts."
Tickets will be $12 and are sold at Mountain
Mike’s, Bonners Books, Under the Sun, and the
Groove Studio. The seating capacity is 165 seats
so get your tickets early.
Carolyn has come up with a great idea to help
advertise your business and get more customers
through your doors. If she designs the event’s
ticket, she will put something like the sample
below on the back.
Bring this ticket on performance date and
receive any of the following:

~ 1/2 price appetizer with entree at Mugsy's

As there is limited space she would cycle
different businesses through different events.
It would be at her discretion who to put on what
tickets. The offer on the back of the ticket
would be limited to the date of the event,
unless you requested an extension of your offer.
This is a win win for all concerned and is a
creative use of tickets besides getting one into
a performance. Since Carolyn is an artist and
would be designing each events' tickets herself,
these could be little artistic mementos that
could be laminated and then kept for book marks.
Maybe even a series of posters to create a
history of the Pearl and its performances.
