U.S. Army paratrooper Bowe Bergdahl.
Idaho’s Congressional Delegation released the following statement acknowledging the second anniversary of the capture of Sgt. Bowe R. Bergdahl, Hailey, Idaho, on June 30, 2009, in Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.

“We want Idahoans and the nation to remember that Sgt. Bergdahl continues to be held by Islamic extremists. His safe return to the United States and his family in Hailey continues to be a top priority for the U.S. Military and Intelligence community. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with Bowe and his family during this difficult time.”

On June 16, Bergdahl was promoted to sergeant and his parents were presented with his promotion certificate.
