Position Summary: The Youth Sports Program Director will organize & administrate sports & activities for children ages 4-14 years of age. You will gather funding through business sponsorships and/or donations, registrations fees, fundraisers, and research grant opportunities to provide funding for the programs. Publicize activities within the community and public schools. You must recruit volunteers for facilitating the programs and events. Develop teams, schedule practices & games, administrate and supervise the various programs.


Position Type: Part time, seasonal, 20-30 hrs/week


Pay type: hourly, $7.72/hr


Some prior experience in organizing and administrating events/programs through volunteer service or a paid position would be preferred. Must work well independently with little supervision, dependable, highly organized, self-motivated, multi-task oriented, and able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends. The ability to communicate and interact with parents, children, and businesses within the community a must. Attend and report to monthly Parks & Recreation board meetings. Familiar with computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Print Master, Internet Explorer, and email.

 

Secretarial duties include answering phones, receipting payments, faxing, copying, purchasing of equipment and supplies, and produce signs, forms, ads, & reports for organizing and tracking program information. Supervise grounds maintenance personnel. Operate a food concession stand. Organize family/community events and functions to promote interaction and involvement from parents and community members. Open to various tasks such as/ but not limited to cleaning, painting, light cooking, and other light maintenance issues. Willing to use personal vehicle to facilitate programs, Post Office, etc.
