To the Editor,
A Tale of Two Cities
In one, a resident is given permission by the
city council and mayor to live full time,
year-round, without a water hookup, electric,
septic (unless a hole with a toilet chair
counts), in a small/travel trailer for three
plus years. Still ongoing...
In two, a resident files the simple paperwork
required by the city, and informs the city clerk
of their plans. No stipulations are made, no
ordinances cited, no further requirements
written or stated are made. Yet, several months
down the road, their honesty and hard work earns
them a verbal assault, reprimand and
unsubstantiated demands by the city council.
Demands and requirements not made of
others...just the law-abiding.
If I didn’t know better...that has an eerily
familiar ring to it.
