Not all RCC members oppose levy

April 18, 2011
This letter is in response to Doug Kim-Brown's letter about the chairman of the Republican Central Committee sending out e-mails.

For everyone's information, not all precinct committee persons in the Boundary County RCC are opposed to the school levy. At a meeting before the first vote, a motion for the BCRCC to publicly oppose the levy failed.

I am the precinct committee person for the Valley View precinct. I can assure you, any letter sent out by any member of the RCC is personal, and does not reflect the views of the committee as a whole.

None of us likes to pay taxes, but there are times when we have to think of something or someone other than ourselves. The future of our community is much more important to me than a few dollars of tax savings.

Doug, you gave all good reasons to vote YES on the levy. And yes, it IS for the kids, and families, and jobs, and the community ... even the state. And more.

Anyone with questions, please attend the Community Meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at Becker Auditorium, and/or the Meet & Greet from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, in the Boundary County Middle School Cafeteria. They'll be having a free breakfast, and the chance to meet the new School District 101 Superintendent, Dick Conley. There will be more information on the M&O levy, and teachers will be available to show what they are doing in their classrooms.
