Seventy-six trombones and the big parade are making their way to Bonners Ferry from New York City with the Broadway tour of Music Man! FOA is especially excited to bring another professional Broadway touring company to perform this well-loved and family-friendly full scale musical.

The story is set in Smalltown, USA, of a bygone era. The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying musical instruments and uniforms for a boy's band he promises to organize - despite the fact that he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef! His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for the town librarian, all while the town breaks into chaos as they learn of his scheme!

Filled with classical musical fun, tender romance and favorites including "Seventy-Six Trombones", "Gary Indiana", Goodnight My Someone", The Music Man is the perfect All-American Musical!

The Music Man has won many awards and nominations for Best Musical, Best Revival of a Musical, Best Actors, Actresses, Choreography, Scenic Design, Costume Design, Orchestration and more.

The New York Times Review in 1957 wrote: "Dollars to doughnuts, Meredith Willson dotes on brass bands. In The Music Man, which opened last night at the Majestic, he translated the thump and razzle-dazzle of brass-band lore into a warm and genial cartoon of American life...which is as American as apple pie and a Fourth of July oration."

A 53' tractor trailer will pull into town with the scenery, sound, costumes and props. Load-in, set-up and focus will take a full eight hours. The company consists of 28 actors, including the Company Manager, eight musicians for a live orchestra, seven road crew and three drivers! Boundary County will experience a real Broadway show with a live eight piece orchestra right here at home!

This is a show not to miss ... Get your tickets today! For more info: Friends of the Arts (208) 267-5256 or (208) 267-1738.
