Uncle Bud's
heartburn ...
|
Focus on local county campaign … please! |
© Bud Larsen |
March 25, 2012 |
I
leave the self-exiled tenure in my chemo and
radiation cave just long enough to make an open
plea to you; the people your Uncle Bud loves in
our Boundary County; forget the national level
campaign and focus your research and thoughts on
our local government.
Those four stand up comedians are spending their
time bad-mouthing one another instead of
focusing their efforts on the goal … getting
President Obama out of office.
I candidly report to you that given what has
been going on recently on the national front, we
as a Republican party, (which use to be loyal to
one another) will not defeat Obama.
I won’t even bother evoking wishful thinking
that our party will get its act together in a
cohesive group strong enough to defeat Obama.
The leadership offered us across the board is
pathetic, to say the least.
Focus on the upcoming primay, with emphasis on
continuity, as given our current economic
climate we sure need to seek continued stability
at our county level.
I freely make and submit to you for your
consideration the following endorsements of who
I feel are important to the continued health and
welfare of all of us in Boundary County.
Retain all our county commission members – our
county is not broke and we do not need someone
playing with it.
Vote for a new State Representative so we have a
“voice from the north” once again, right here at
home. That candidate is none other than Donna
Capruso … a no nonsense, tenacious lady who will
be a true champion for us.
Uuder that tough façade is a gentle but no
nonsense soul. She is ready to hit the road
running as she has already blanketed Boise.
We get a built in bonus with electing Donna as
our state representative in that her life-mate,
Terry, happens to be one of the best political
research men I’ve met. Here is a team we need.
Last but not least of my endorsement is for the
continued service of Sheriff Greg Sprungel.
The last thing we need is someone coming in with
ideas to try … there is no funding for playing
“what if”and I doubt if our commission is going
to come up with a larger law enforcement budget.
Once again we’re talking continuity … our
sheriff’s department is small and functional due
to the steady hand of Sheriff Sprungl. Greg is
honest to a fault and will call a spade a spade.
Retain him and we’ll live in peace for another
four years.
It is my love for our way of life around here
that prompted me to break out of this medical
cocoon I’ve been in. So, I’ve have made my plea
to you and now it is time to hide and beat this
cancer … and beat it I will, as there are fish
in the lakes waiting on Uncle Bud
Missing all of you and truly overwhelmed with
the calls of support in my fight with cancer. |
