Boundary County Clerk

Glenda Poston

Glenda Poston, a native of Bonners Ferry, was appointed Boundary County Clerk by county commissioners in March, 2004, and won election later that year and in each election thereafter.

She and her husband, Brion, have been married for 38 years, their daughter, Jessica, has given them three grandchildren; Frankie, Gracie and Josie.

In addition to her duties as county clerk, Glenda serves on the Boundary County Fair Board, Bonners Ferry Planning and Zoning, and she's a member of the Friends of the Restorium, the Friends of Mirror Lake and the Bonners Ferry Rotary Club.

As the elected clerk for the county, one of her main duties is to take responsibility for preparation of the county’s budget each year.

"I look at this as a challenge and I do enjoy meeting the needs of each of the 39-departments," she said.

She is also in charge of all the elections for Boundary County, she is clerk of the district court and she is responsible for the recording of all public records in Boundary County.

Poston is a board member for the GEM Plan, the medical insurance program for the counties within the state, she serves as District 1 Representative on the Idaho Association Board of Directors and is co-chair of the Health and Human Services committee for Idaho Association of Counties.

She served as president of Idaho Clerks and Commissioners in 2010-2011, and as president of the Idaho County Clerks Association in 2015-2016.

A statement she wrote when she first ran for office, "I am not afraid of hard work and I’ve enjoyed meeting the challenges of this office, always keeping you, the taxpayer, uppermost in my mind," she said, is as valid today as it was in 2004.
