Volunteers are needed for repairing the Boulder
Meadows trail near Naples in a work party set
for Friday, September 9. Volunteer crews will be
digging water drainage ditches, installing water
bars, and replacing soil that has been washed
off the trail.
The project is on a section of the non-motorized
Boulder Meadows trail about one mile up the
trail from the trailhead parking area. This
section of the Boulder Meadows trail is part of
the 900-mile Idaho Centennial Trail that runs
from the Nevada border on the south to American
Falls on the north near the U.S.-Canada border.
Volunteers will use hand tools provided by the
Forest Serve to do light work on the closed dirt
road that's been converted to a single track.
Everyone should bring work gloves, eye
protection, sturdy shoes, lunch, and water.
Those coming in from Bonner County will meet at
the far end of the parking lot at the Bonner
Mall, bt the theater, at 7:30 a.m.; those from
Boundary County will meet at the junction of
Highway 95 and 20 Mile Road just north of Naples
at 8 a.m. To get to the site, high clearance
vehicles are recommended.
