Coach, American Legion Baseball
American Legion baseball is back in Boundary
County. The first home game is this Saturday
beginning at 1:00 p.m. as the Badgers host the
Sandpoint Lakers. Opening ceremonies will
feature American Legion Post 55 presenting the
colors as well as past coaches from Bonners
Ferry High School and American Legion throwing
out the honorary first pitch.
This year's team is made up of all Bonners Ferry
High School student athletes including incoming
freshman Seth Bateman and current high schoolers
Brady Bateman, Chris Sabin, Nick Sabin, Caleb
Blackmore, Kevin Gray, Caleb Gering, Vince
Bennett, Kaleb Stockton, Steve Anzalone, Raul
Rodriquez and Pacen Pluid. Coaching staff will
be Cal Bateman, Chris Sabin, Birch Rose and Tom
Turpin.
Saturday June 13, there will be a fundraiser for
the team as the Badgers host the Bonners Ferry
American Legion Alumni players. Come out and
support our local legends as they relive their
glory days. The Alumni team will be coached by
Leonard Schulte and will be comprised of players
who participated in the American Legion Baseball
program in Bonners Ferry. If interested in
participating please contact Tom Turpin, Mike
Schulte, or Cal Bateman.
Tentative game time is 1:00 p.m. Admission will
be free, donations will be accepted and
appreciated. Concessions will be open.
Family, friends, and fans of the Alumni team
please bring items like: Icy hot, Ibuprofen,
wraps, crutches and wheelchairs for the Alumni
players..... They're gonna need it!
