Badger varsity boys basketball kicked off their season Tuesday night with a 62-21 win over Coeur d'Alene Charter. On Thursday, they take on Lakeland in an away game at 7 p.m.

The Bonners Ferry girls dropped their game in a tough 40-38 decision. The Lady Badgers were led by Emma Kelly's 14 points, McKenzie MacDonald added 7.

Abby Davis finished with 4 points, six assists and five rebounds. Desirae Minor contributed nine rebounds off the bench.

"Overall the girls played hard but we need to do better job on the defensive boards," coach Chris Chatburn said.

The girls travel to Lakeland Thursday for a 5:30 match up.
