After their opening game against Sandpoint was
rained out, the Badger girls varsity softball
team went to Lewiston Saturday and played their
first two games of the season. Of the 15 girls
on the team, half have never played softball
before.
The girls played awesome, they all had amazing
plays and batted well.
Despite their outstanding efforts, the Badgers
fell to Lewiston JV 3-12 in the first game in
seven innings and the second game 6-16 in five
innings.
Junior MaKenzie Carle pitched the first game
with eight strikeouts and freshman Gabby
Blackmore caught.
In the second game, senior Lindsay Taggart
pitched her debut game and junior Brianna
Reasoner caught her debut game.
Senior Lindsay Taggart had a triple and went 3-6
on the day.
MaKenzie Carle also went 3-6 on the day.
Foreign exchange students Shio-Mhara Roldan
Andrade from Spain and Sandra Brkanovic from
Montenegro both played in their first games ever
and impressed everybody.
The girls next scheduled game is at 2 p.m.
Tuesday, March 26 at Lake City. |
