Gearing up for Swish
|
July 9, 2011 |
It's the final days until the Bonners Ferry
Swish fills the streets of downtown Bonners
Ferry, and coordinator Ron Sukenik has a few
announcements to make as the clock counts down.
Players registered for this year's Swish,
expected to be the biggest since the event
began, can pick up their shirts and team
packages at the back door of the Bonners Ferry
Museum from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 15.
All the volunteers who will be working hard to
make the event a success are asked to attend a
short training session on monitoring and
scorekeeping at 5 p.m. Friday, July 15, in the
Museum event room. Volunteers attending will be
served dinner, and may also pick up their
shirts.
Anyone who'd like to help set up for Swish is
invited to show up downtown from 5 to 9 p.m.
Friday, July 15, to place the goal posts and do
all the myriad other work that has to be done
before players hit the pavement Saturday
morning.
If you'd like to volunteer, contact Colet Allen,
(208) 267-8130 or by email, colet@meadowcrk.com,
or Jan Klopfenstein, (208) 304-4572 or by email, thmrpigs@live.com.
If, instead of volunteering, you'd rather be
part of the attraction by playing, you can
register on the Bonners Ferry Swish website, www.bfswish.com.
The final day to register is Tuesday, July 12. |
