Badgers do well at Interstate Rivals meet

The Badger track teams traveled to Rockford,
Washington, Saturday for the Interstate Rivals
track meet, where the girls finished with a
second place team finish and the boys finishing
third.
On the boys side, Rock Stapely finished second
in both the 100 meters, at 11.81, and the 200
meters, 23.95, both events won by Timberlake.
Jacob Callister won the 400 meter event with a
time of 55.13. Jared Lysne came in fourth in the
1,600 with a time of 5:14.43.
In the 3,200, Micah Krmpotich earned a win with
a time of 10:56.14; Bradley Thompson finished
third at 11:52.22.
The Badger boys 4x100 relay team finished their
race in fourth place with a time of 48.80, the
4x160 relay team, Carmen Krichbaum, Allen Avery,
Thomas Amoth and Brandon Ratcliff, earned a win
in their event with a time of 51.13.4. In the
4x400 relay, the Badgers finished third with a
time of 3:57.65, and in the distance medley the
Badgers came in second at 11:48.4.
Krichbaum finished second in the shot put with a
40'10.3" effort, and sixth in discus with a toss
of 101'1."
The top two finishers in the pole vault were
Badgers, with Taylor Tompke taking the win with
an 11-foot vault, Jesse Gondek finished second
with a 10'6" effort.
Timberlake won the event in boys team scorinig,
with 160.5 points, Freeman came in second with
154.3, the Badgers finished in third with 116.5
points. Rounding out the team scoring were Coeur
d'Alene Charter, 78, West Valley, 77.5,
Colville, 74.5, Kootenai, 46.5, and Lakeside,
19.5.
In the girls matchup, Courtney Tucker won the
100 meter event at 13.66, followed by teammate
Elizabeth Racer, 14.14. Allyson Merrifield
finished the race in sixth place at 14.35.
Tucker finished the 200 in third place with a
time of 28.99, and Meg Newell came in for a
sixth place finish at 29.83.
Tucker also finished first in the 400 meters,
coming in with a time of 1:05.25. Lillian York
finished the race in fifth place at 1:13.58.
Olivia Langs finished the 100 hurdles with a
time of 18.84 for a third place finish, followed
by Sydey Hubbard, who came in fourth. Langs
finished the 300 hurdles in fourth place at
57.04.
The Badger girls 4x100 relay team; Amy Andrews,
Racer, Langs and Merrifield, won their event
with a time of 54.45, and the Badger girls
placed second in the 4x160 relay as well as in
the distance medley.
Markayle Accord finished second in the shot put,
with a heave of 29'4," followed by Sarah
Schuman, who came in third with a 27'10" effort.
Accord won the discus with a 99'7" toss, and
again Schuman was right behind, brining in a
second place finish with an 88' throw.
Jessica Merz took third in the high jump with a
4'6" leap, and Lillian York soared to a second
place Badger finish in the pole vault with a 7"
leap. Rachel Endicott finished in sixth place
with a 6'6" jump, followed by Emma Kelly, who
finished the event in sixth place with a 6'
leap. Anika Blackmore came in sixth in the long
jump with a 13'4 3/4" jump, and Amy Andrews
earned a Badger win in the triple jump with a
31' 2 1/2" effort.
Timberlake also took the team title in the girls
events with 202.2 team points; the Badgers came
in second with 171.3, followed by Colville, 106,
Coeur d'Alene Charter, 89, Freeman, 73.5,
Kootenai, 49, West Valley, 36.5 and Lakeside,
