Boise - The Pac-10 Conference
announced its 2010-11 All Academic Wrestling
Team April 6, with six Boise State wrestlers
selected, led by Bonners Ferry native Adam Hall,
a 2006 graduate of Bonners Ferry High School,
who is set to graduate this spring, having
maintained a 3.50 grade point average for a
degree in Health Science.
Last month, Hall was honored as the Pac-10
Wrestling Scholar-Athlete of the Year for his
success on and off the mat this year. For that
award, he had to maintain a cumulative grade
point average of 3.0 or higher, be a senior on
track to receive a degree, have participated in
at least half of the team's contests.
In addition to maintaining a high degree of
academic success, Hall recently finished his
collegiate wrestling career with a fifth-place
finish in the 157-pound weight class at the NCAA
Championships, earning his second NCAA
All-American honors, having finished third last
year at nationals.
He fought to a 30-2 record on the mat for the
2010-2011 school year, finished with a 122-18
overall mark. With 122 wins, he ranks second
all-time at Boise State University, trailing
only Tyler Sherfey, who amassed 124 wins.
During his high school career, under the skilled
coaching of Conrad Garner, Hall was one of the
most decorated high school wrestlers in state
history, winning the state championship three
times in his weight class and finishing as
runner-up his freshman year at 125-pounds. He
was undefeated as a senior, and amassed an
overall record of 169 wins to only four losses,
a 97.7 percent win average.
Along with his state finishes, he won four
district championships, all while competing at
the national level. During his senior year, he
placed first at the Junior National
Championships in free style and was named the
outstanding wrestler at the High School Senior
National Championships.
In addition to wrestling, Hall also excelled at
soccer and track, serving twice as soccer team
captain as the team earned All North Idaho
honors, and twice medaling at state in the
1,600-meter run. Academically, he graduated with
a 3.80 grade point average.
Adam is the son of Roland and Linda Hall,
Bonners Ferry. |
