Bonners Ferry Community Choir begins rehearsals,
all welcome |

Welcoming singers from high school age to senior
citizens, the Bonners Ferry
Community Choir begins rehearsals on Tuesday
Oct. 20 at 6:45 p.m. The choir willrehearse each
Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church on Cody
Street in Bonners Ferryuntil their concerts
December 18 and 20 . The 60-65 voice Bonners
Ferry Community Choirhas presented annual
Christmas concerts since the mid 1970's. This
year celebratesthe choir's 20th year with
current conductor Vicki Blake Thompson.
Accompanist forthe choir is Barb Nelson.
The Bonners Ferry Community Choir is a
non-auditioned chorus open to all singers high
school age and older. Middle School students are
also welcome if a parent also sings in the
choir. Any singer who wants to join should
simply come to the rehearsals. There are
no fees for this choir and the music is
provided. The
repertoire is centered on the Christmas story
and includes a wide variety of musical
styles. Singers come primarily from Bonners
Ferry but others from Sandpoint and Creston,
British Columbia join in as well. All are
welcomed.
Vicki Blake Thompson has conducted multiple
choirs in our community for the last 20 years.
Swingin' on a Star: the BF Children's Choir,
Wild Mountain Thyme, Boundless octet, Arioso:
the Bonners Ferry High School Honor Choir,
Resonance men's choir, She Sings women's choir,
and Spiritsong international touring choir were
all begun and directed by Vicki Blake Thompson.
The Bonners Ferry Community Choir was her first
conducting experience in 1996 and it is from
this group that all the others evolved. The
community is invited to come join in the singing
for this Christmas celebration. |
