The Bonners Ferry Rotary Students of the Month
for March are two hard-working and talented
Bonners Ferry High School seniors; Gabrielle
Munson and Collin Cossairt. No one can say that Gabrielle Munson lacks for things to do when she is not pursuing her academic objectives. During her four years of high school, she has been or is a member of the National Honor Society, 4-H, the FFA organizations, youth groups for her church, Boundary County Fair, cheerleading and track, and multiple community service activities. She is especially proud of her achievement obtaining her State FFA degree. Gabby is now or has been an officer of the local chapter of the FFA, North Idaho District FFA, Busy Beavers 4-H Club, fair queen and lettering in both cheerleading and track and field. Her goal is to attend the University of Idaho or Kansas State University to become an agricultural education teacher and plant scientist. Collin Cossairt has been a commercial fisherman during high school. This experience has led to his career goals of attending the University of Idaho to become a fish and game officer. During Collin’s high school career, he has been or currently is a member of the National Honor Society and has participated in basketball, cross country and track. He is especially proud of his achievement of being part of the team qualifying for state track and cross country in each of the years he has participated. According to Collin, he is also "proud of his achievement of being inducted into the National Honor Society and to now be a part of the top ten in my graduating class.” Each month, Rotary honors two students from Bonners Ferry High School as Rotary Students of the Month. They are selected on the basis of the their academic achievement and their commitment and contributions to their community, school and family. Students must also have good school attendance and demonstrate a good attitude. Finally, the winning students must have demonstrated the characteristics of Rotary’s “4-Way Test” – Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned? |
