Bonnie Peterson looking to renew acquaintances |
January 27, 2013 |
By Mike Weland Bonnie McGlocklin was born in Bonners Ferry July 30, 1935, and went to schools here through the ninth grade. She won't be able to come back for the All-Class Reunion in August, but she would like to renew old acquaintances. Her family moved from Bonners Ferry to Spokane in 1950, her ninth-grade year, to get on-going medical treatment for her brother, Bernard. She finished out her high school years in Spokane, graduating in 1953. She met her husband to be, Mike Peterson, who was stationed at Geiger Air Base, shortly after graduating, and they were married in 1954. They moved to Houston, Texas, in 1964, and live there to this day. She has no idea how the All Class Reunion Committee got her address, but she received notice in the mail from them this week, and while she can't attend, she said she'd like to get in touch with any of her old classmates, and she emailed News Bonners Ferry, official web site of the reunion, asking if there's any way to reconnect with the old friends she grew up with. Shortly after receiving her letter this morning, I posted word on the Bonners Ferry Back When Facebook page, and I've already passed her email along to Daisy Huggins, who remembered her from all those years ago, and Don Hoaglan, who would have graduated in the BFHS Class of '53 with her had her family stayed. If anyone else who remembers Bonnie would like to get in contact, use the email comment link below and I'll gladly send you her email or mailing address, as you prefer. |
