Zita Pace (r)
of St. Mary's Episcopal Church Guild,
presents a $200 check to Christine
Villanueva for the Community Action
Agency Food Bank. |
One of the oldest and smallest church service
groups in Bonner's Ferry, Saint Mary's Guild,
recently continued their giving, making a $200
donation to the Community Action Partnership
Food Bank.
The guild, an independent women's service
organization, was founded at the turn of the
century by a group of women including Mary
Hawkins. Through their dedication and hard work,
they founded St. Mary's Episcopal Church, now
located at 6850 Denver Street, Bonners Ferry.
Though the church seats 67, average attendance
is only 20, and the Guild is comprised of only
six very active ladies who organize and hold
three or four sales each year to benefit a
school in Uganda, Africa, and local
organizations such as the food bank and the
Bonners Ferry Alternative High School.
